I know most of us are thinking that we have lots of time before we have to worry about gifts. I know I can sometimes leave it to the last minute. But recently I was browsing Amazon looking for some fun feminist gift ideas (specifically, colouring books — don’t judge) and I was surprised at what I found. Black Friday deals anyone?!
And if your mom is anything like mine, it can get HARD to get her a gift. Sometimes she’s harder to shop for than my dad! What do you give a woman who has everything she wants? The love of her life, a job she loves, two amazing daughters… what more could she want? 😉
So, to help you plan ahead — or at least, to give you a resource to come back to in two weeks — here are some awesome feminist gift ideas for moms that will be sure to help you show your appreciation and love for her/them. There is something for everyone!

1. To Remind Her You Love Her Every Morning:
The “Raging Feminist Mom” Mug
I got my mom a mug for Christmas this year, and it was one of those chalkboard paint ones so I used a wet chalk marker to write her a cute note. It was personalized, and she loved it!
Below is a picture of the Raging Feminist Mom mug, along with a few other great choices. They’re less personalized, but if your mom is a coffee-loving (or tea-loving) proud feminist, I think she’ll love them. And all of them are dishwasher and microwave safe!
(Plus, check out the STEMinist one, if your mom works in science, technology, engineering, or medicine!)
2. To Show Her That You Love Her Artsy Feminist Talent: The Badass Feminist Coloring Book
The Badass Feminist Coloring Book is about intersectional feminism, and features 40 badass feminists as well as several essays on feminism. Perfect for the artsy (or not-so-artsy) mom who would love to learn a bit about feminism while getting in some de-stress me-time too!
“The images in this book are illustrations of dreams had by a girl named Avie after she saw the world for what it was and was subsequently institutionalized due to her lack of motivation for living conventionally. These pages explore themes including feminism, afrocentricity, death and rebirth, gender identity and power dynamics.”
Sounds downright amazing to me.
If the reviews aren’t enough to get you into this one, check out the description:
“A colouring book that lets you mix and match your favourite female icons – from mythological to modern day – and create your own uber-woman. Girl-power creativity for all ages. Can’t decide if you’re a farm girl or a circus lady? Fantasize about sporting a skateboard or a mermaid tail? Ever feel like a modern-day warrior goddess?
Be them all in this colouring book. Explore over 2000 possible combinations of your uber-woman. Plus, draw your own portrait and add yourself to the mix. Suitable for adults and children, artists and non-artists alike, for every beast from A to Z that can hold a pen, marker, crayon, or paintbrush.”
I bet mom would love to create her uber-woman! I know I would.

3. Give Her Clothes to Help Her Represent:
The Slut Is A Social Construct Vintage Racerback Tank Top
Let yo momma strut her stuff in this proud to be feminist tank! She’ll love this new addition to her wardrobe, especially for them Netflix and chill nights that are bound to come as the weather cools down.
And of course, if she loves cats:
The Pro-Choice Pro-Feminism Pro-Cats Tank Top
I mean, it only makes sense right? (There are also pro-coffee ones too!)

4. Give her endless feminist knowledge: Feminist Magazine Subscriptions
My mom used to love reading novels, but lately, not so much. Magazines are a good alternative because the information comes in small chunks!
Subscribe your feminist mom to a feminist magazine and let her read her brain out — and maybe while you’re at it, get a subscription for yourself!
5. Help her bling up her tech: The Feminist Badass Phone Case
I don’t know about you, but I am pretty excited to give my mom her gift.
I can’t share what it is because like any superfan mom, she reads my posts, but I’ll be sure to share it after! You’ll be surprised… it’s pretty awesome.
I’m excited also going home the day after her birthday — I have to work her actual birthday — and I can’t wait to give her a big ol’ hug celebrating the day she left my grandmother’s vagina. Such a special day!
What are you planning for your mom(s) this holiday?
